The reverse is undecorated. Circular with a wide, sloping rim, and well with deep curved sides and flat central area. The well is occupied by a vigorous rampant lion with five trefoil plant motifs and a wavy leaf in the spaces around it. The dark outlines of the lion and other motifs are 'jewelled' in cream slip. The rim is decorated with a trellis in two shades of brown, broken on the lower edge by a 'jewelled' panel enclosing the name and date: ' RALPH: TOFT 1676' in dark brown slip.
