Studio Ceramics. Undulating Vessel. Hanna, Ashraf (b. 1967, Egypt). Hand-built raku body clay coated with near-black slip. Hand built clay vessel, rising from a sharply pointed rectangular base. The sides flat at the base, rising into a softer curving form with a bulge on one side and a large dimple on the other, one slightly lower than the other giving a listing appearance. Undulating rim. Coated with near black slip and finely textured inside and out. Underside flat. Height 33 cm, width 30.5 cm, depth 20.5 cm, 2018. Gift of Nicholas and Judith Goodison through the Art Fund.
