Mask of a woman. These faces formed the top section of a type of coffin that was popular in Roman Egypt. The facial features and hairstyles of the examples here seem individual. However, such masks were mass-produced by pouring plaster in moulds. Production Place: Egypt. Mould made, plaster, depth, 20, cm, height, 29, cm, width, 14, cm. Roman, 100-150 AD, reign of Hadrian.
