Cup and Saucer/Teacup. New Hall Porcelain Factory, Staffordshire. The cup is of London shape. The circular saucer has deep sloping sides, and stands on a footring. The inside of the cup has a red and black bird on a white area. The rest of the surface is covered with two underglaze blue panels decorated with red and gold flowers, and two white panels decorated with a spray of underglaze blue and green leaves and red flowers, with seven red squares below. Above the panels there are red stylized plants reserved in a gold gound. The exterior is decorated with a border comprising alternating rectangles containing two scale-patterned diamonds reserved in a blue ground, and a red flower reserved in a blue ground. The back of the handle is gilded. The saucer is decorated with the same design as the interior of the cup, with the interior border round the outer edge. Pattern 1368. bone china, painted underglaze in cobalt blue, overglaze in pale green, iron-red, a little black, and gold. Height, cup, 6 cm, width, cup, 10.6 cm, diameter, cup, 8.7 cm, height, saucer, 2.8 cm, diameter, saucer, 14 cm, circa 1813-1818. Imari Style.
