Textiles/Woman's coif. Linen, polychrome embroidery in silk, silver and silver gilt thread. Stitches; braid, buttonhole, chain, double chain, ladder, plaited braid, stem, trellis, bosses. Design, circular coiling stems terminating in alternating sprays of oak leaves and strawberries. Open top seam, front edge finished with gilt thread and dark blue silk. Height, whole, 8 in, width, whole, 8 in, circa 1575- circa 1624. English.
