  • Title-page to the 'Vedute'. Canaletto (Giovanni Antonio Canal) (Italian, 1697-1768). Etching, before 1744. Dedicated to the British Consul in Venice, Joseph Smith, who was appointed in 1744. Production Note: One of 34 etchings, published as an undated and unnumbered series. The set bequeathed by Adkin was collected from a variety of sources and never formed a single set of the 34 'Vedute'. Alternative Number(s): Vesme; 1 II/II. Bromberg (Canaletto); 1 II/II.
