Straining spoon/spoon for olives. Flatware. Jouguet, Claude, silversmith, Paris, Colmar. The large spoon has a fiddle pattern handle with thread edge, and a cast shell at the terminal. The bowl is pierced with a lozenge of quatrefoils surrounded by scrolls within a dot and dash border. The back of the handle is engraved with a crest of a bird. Silver, the spoon was forged, the bowl was pierced, and the crest engraved, length, overall, 31.3 cm, weight, whole, 154 g, 1738-1739. Louis XV.
