Illuminated Manuscript. Binding, front cover and spine. Gospel Lectionary and Collectar. Parchment, 161 fols., 251 x 170 (150 x 116) mm, 17 â 18 long lines, ruled in plummet, neums (fols. 10v â 12r), red and white silk curtains extant on fols. 3v, 18v, 49v, 51v, 64r, traces of stitching above most other miniatures and initials. BINDING: twelfth century, red leather over thick wooden boards, sewn on 3 supports, traces of two clasps on lower cover, holes on upper cover left after removal of metal and jewelled ornaments. Southern Germany (Windberg), c. 1170-1180.
