Sculpture. Capital of a column, the sides carved with a man seated on a throne playing the harp, probably the psalmist, David, with an eagle above and to the right of him, a woman riding a horse, possibly the Virgin Mary, and another woman leading the horse with her right hand and holding an eagle on her left. Round the upper edge there is a row of drilled beading with below, foliated scrolls flanking the figures. White marble, carved and drilled, height, whole, 29.8 cm. Production Place: France, Avignon. Probably from the Romanesque cloister of Notre-Dame-des-Doms, Avignon. Circa 1150-1200. Romanesque.
