The exterior has continuous floral scrollwork, the eight-petalled blooms are borne on thick winding stems among small ovoid leaves and foliate scrolls and are all picked out in pale aubergine outlined in black, and reserved against an aquamarine ground. The iridescent enamels are applied over a hard white glaze, the rim is left unglazed and the interior, base and exterior of the foot are glazed in white.
