The oval pot has straight sides which curve inwards towards the top, and are decorated in relief on both sides with a design of plants, with leaves and buds. Inside the top there is a ledge on which the cover rests. On the cover there is a recumbent cow, surrounded by a low bank decorated with plants in relief. The underside is unglazed and has a central hole. The sides of the pot and the edge of the cover are coloured green, and the plants are picked out in blue, yellow and red. The cow has blue features, a yellow nose, and a purple tail. It has a blue and yellow garland round its neck, and a polychrome floral spray across its back.
