The base is similar to that of a Dog of Fo or Chinese lion in the Musée Adrien Dubouché at Limoges (ADL 1178; acquired 1881) tentatively attributed to Saint-Cloud. The lions are different, and could have formed a male (FM) and female (ALD) pair, but the provenance of the lion at Limoges is unknown before the Gasnault Collection, donated to the museum in 1881.referenceterm-109775adlib-term-109775360235be-f250-39b6-8374-dccd0bdf526018th Century, first half#referenceterm-106699adlib-term-1066998dcad937-6054-3c62-8e8d-fe705979e127literalFranceFrancecountryperhaps Saint-Cloud, probably FranceSaint-Cloudpresumed lead-glazereferenceterm-107733adlib-term-10773300160189-e3ce-3796-a88b-5aa8d6c808c4lead-glazereferenceterm-37637adlib-term-3763789b09133-dc0a-3a88-bd40-5aef1ad30ecbsoft-paste porcelainHeightcm16.5Lengthcm20.3referencemedia-53432adlib-media-534320771477e-ff80-3ff1-a0ce-ea3419b3f647jpegaa/aa23/C_3200_1928_20_281_29.jpg1heightpixels570widthpixels76016162395669621imagejpegaa/aa23/mid_C_3200_1928_20_281_29.jpg1heightpixels375widthpixels50016162395669621imagejpegaa/aa23/C_3200_1928_20_281_29.jpg1heightpixels570widthpixels76016162395669621imagejpegaa/aa23/preview_C_3200_1928_20_281_29.jpg1heightpixels188widthpixels25016162395669621image0media
