An image of Chamberstick. South, William, silversmith, London. Circular dish-shaped base with handle set at right angles to the base. The circular dish-shaped base with a raised centre supporting a cylindrical sconce. The side of the sconce is pierced with a long vertical bone-shaped hole, presumable to hold a mechanism for the raising of the candle. The long spatulate handle is hollow. Silver, height, to rim, 2 cm, width, handle to rim, 24 cm, diameter 13.5 cm, weight 250 g, 1705-1706. Queen Anne.
