Underglaze brushwork of pine in black, together with inscriptions in Chinese characters. Cloud decorations around the outside. Maker's mark and the inscription; on the plate; brushed; four Chinese characters verse inscribed by KENZAN; Four Chinese characters read ' the wind blowing to the thin bamboo branches' painted by KENZAN. Stoneware, hand-built, brush painting in black pigment, height 2.00 cm, width of the square, whole, 9.50 cm, larger, circa 1700-circa 1799. Edo Period (1615-1868). Production Note: this piece belongs to the three-piece set (C.183A, B & C-1934).
