  • Illuminated manuscript. Cutting. Fragments with ornamental initials from a Choir book. Production Place: Spain, probably Avila. Parchment, gold, one or two fragmentary four-line musical staves ruled in red ink and one or two lines of fragmentary words ruled in plummet on reverse, 215 x 192 mm, initial [D] 115 x 100 mm, circa 1500 to circa 1525. ORNAMENTATION: Red and blue parted initials [1-2 ll.] with red pen-flourished infill within frames of red and brown pen flourishing extending into delicate spraywork terminating in red flowers. MS McClean 201.12c.1.
