The low domed cover is pierced by twelve circular holes and has a flat button-shaped knob. The exterior of the pail is decorated with a continuous Oriental garden with fences and flower plants, and above it with a broad complex border of waves, scrolls, and plant motifs. The cover is decorated with a circle of flower heads and a narrower border. The top of the knob is gilded.
