The initials 'PV' moulded into the back of the pedestal of this and some other figures,for example, in the Schreiber Collection at the Victoria & Albert Museum (Schrebier Catalogue II, 311), may indicate that its moulds were produced from a plaster supplied by Peter Vanina, working in London, c. 1761-70.
