Decorated on the front with an oval portrait medallion of George IV. the shoulders facing front, the head, wearing a laurel wreath, in profile to left, with the legend 'GEORGIVS IV DEI GRATIA BRITANNIARUM REX', reserved in blue ground. There are gilt bands round the medallion, the base, the rim, and the inside of the rim. The handle is decorated in gold with a leav, and scrolls. On the base is an applied, or possibly integrally moulded, oval panel, with in relief a wreath enclosing 'JULY XIX/MDCCCXXIX'.
