Tall Ellipse in Deep Reds. Rena, Nicholas (British, b. 1963). Tall elliptical vessel with straight sides and thick walls. The upper rim is perfectly flat. The outside and much of the inside is burnished to an exceptionally smooth finish and stained red-brown; the stain is applied unevenly, giving an organic appearance. The underside is flat, burnished and stained. Earthenware, press moulded, sanded and burnished, stained, heigth 43 cm, width 19.4 cm, depth 10 cm, c. 2000.
