Bowl. Islamic pottery. Unknown potter, probably Syria, Iran. Shape: hemispherical bowl with a plain rim, sits on a narrow foot ring. Interior: four blue lines are painted at regular intervals. Impurity in the glaze has resulted in a hole created during firing. Exterior: glaze runs over the surface to a mid-point on the body. Fritware, painted with blue under a crazed colourless glaze, height, whole, 5.5 cm, diameter, rim, 14 cm, diameter, base, 4.8 cm, circa 1100-circa 1250. Ayyubid. Seljuk. Acquisition Credit: Purchased with the Glaisher Fund.
