The group is supported on a shallow rectangular of ground. The horse is shown rearing in profile to left and the mounted officer turns his head towards the viewer. He wears a brown plumed helmet and has a sword suspended on his left side. The rider, horse and supporting area between its legs are randomly dabbed with yellow, blue and grey.
