    <value>lead-glazed earthenware figure of a boy skating painted in enamels</value>
  </description>
  <description>
    <value>White earthenware, press-moulded, covered with lead-glaze tinted blue (pearl or china glaze) and painted in blue, green, yellow, red, brown, and black enamels. The figure is supported on a square straight-sided base canted inwards on the underside, and having a closed central area with a ventilation hole. It is decorated on the outside with a continuous brown band. The boy stands on a rounded area of blue ice with grooved sides, and a brown and green tree stump at the back. He looks down and turns his head towards his left as he steps forward on his right foot, clasping his crossed arms and hands together in front of his chest. He has pale brown hair, partly covered by a high-crowned black hat with a wide brim which is turned up at the front. He wears a white jacket horizontally striped with alternately straight red and wavy blue lines, a brown cloak, yellow breeches, white stockings and black shoes with barely visible skates attached.</value>
