  <description>
    <value>Grey stoneware, thrown ovoid body with concave base thumbed around its edge, and an applied broad strap handle with four small holes on its outer face, and a finger impression on its lower junction with the body, painted in blue, and salt-glazed. A large P is painted in blue on the shoulder, and a broad horizontal band encircles the neck and runs over the top of the handle. The salt-glaze has an obvious 'orange peel' appearance.</value>
