    <value>tin-glazed earthenware painted in shades of greyish-turquoise, green, dark yellow and manganese-purple, in the form of a hen sitting on an oval dish</value>
  </description>
  <description>
    <value>Earthenware, moulded in three parts, tin-glazed, and painted in shades of greyish-blue, green, dark yellow and manganese-purple. The hen is seated on a fluted oval dish within an oval border of stylized floral sprays, and an edging of manganese-purple dots and dashes. The lower part of the hen and her tail form the body of the tureen, and are supported on the hen's toes at the front, and by two low stones at the back. The hen's head, back and wings form the cover, which has a rectangular cut out at the back to accommodate the tail on the lower half. Both parts are mottled all over with dabs of greyish-blue, green, and dark yellow and with flecks of manganese-purple. The tail has three dark yellow stripes, and the hen's beak and comb are also dark yellow with manganese-details. Her eyes are surrounded by whorls of manganese lines.</value>
