The vesica-shaped back is moulded in relief with a winged cherub's head at the top and a cherub on each side flanking the Crucifixion. Below the winged cherub's head there is a round hole to take a suspension cord or hook. The receptacle is bowl-shaped with an everted rim, and a low narrow foot. The outlines of the cherubs, Christ and his loin cloth are manganese-purple.
