The base and the central cylinder of the cover are unglazed. Cylindrical but curving inwards at the top and rolling outwards at the mouth. The domed cover has a cone shaped knob, and on the underside a central hollow cylinder The interior of the jar is speckled with brown, and heavily crazed and discoloured at the bottom. There is a small hole in the base where a sample for TL testing has been removed (confirming dating). The underside of the cover is padded with what may be plastercine. The cover has discoloured to brown.
