The cylindrical sides are decorated with a continuous scene of an official carrying a tasselled banner and making a dismissive gesture at an official, who is flanked by two attendants, one holding a yellow belt and the other a heap of clothing. They are standing in a rocky landscape with two goats to one side near a grove of trees growing from jagged rockwork. The biscuit surface is applied overall with a thin translucent glaze. The interior is glazed in white and the base has a small glazed recessed centre surrounded by a wide unglazed circle within a glazed band round the rim.
