The exterior is decorated with a continuous Chinese landscape known as 'Pagoda' or 'Brosely' pattern, featuring a pagoda and two figures on a bridge, with a gold band round the rim and foot, a vertical stroke on the back of the handle, and a small dab on its lower end. Inside, there is a blue and gold floral spray in the centre, and round the rim, a border of diaper and scale panels and scrolls, with on its lower edge, a gold border of alternately up and down semi-circles and groups of strokes representing foliage. The saucer has a wavy rim, sloping sides, and flat centre, standing on a footring. The inside is decorated with a landscape with a pagoda and a bridge being crossed by two figures, overlaid by a central gold sprig and a circle. Round the edge there is a border matching that on the cup.
