  • Snuff bottle. Unknown maker, China. With nine Buddhist lions playing with brocade balls, the ground pierced through to reveal the inner body. The neck mounted with old English gold top, ground pierced in relief, nine dogs of Fo each with gem and ribbons. The base with the four-character seal mark of the Jiaqing emperor. This bottle has, at a later stage, been converted to a perfume bottle. Porcelain covered with a white glaze and moulded, height, whole, 8.7 cm, circa 1796-1820. Jiaqing period.
