  • Miniature. Murad, last Prince of the Aqquyunu, taken prisoner by Shah Isma'il at the battle of Shurur in 1502 A.D. Unknown miniaturist. Pen and ink with some wash and gold on laid paper, laid down, height 178 mm, width 127 mm, 17th Century. Persian. Production Note: See letter of T.W. Arnold, 1915-12-15, who quotes Dr. Martin as knowing in the least 10 different copies of this picture. (See letter in filing-box).
