<value>15 letters and notes. Correspondence concerning the offer of Blanche Langdon to donate her collection of Egyptian cats. She subsequently gave them to the University of London to be displayed as a student collection (Jan 1966). A note dated 1976 recommends declining the bequest of the collection. A factor in Langdon's decision in 1966 was that galleries containing Egyptian antiquities were closed for refurbishment. A letter from Carl Winter dated 21 April 1965 refers to work taking more than 12 months while "the rooms themselves are altered and new display cases are made". Cases containing Egyptian antiquities actually boarded up with not even staff access.</value>
