<type>content description</type>
<value>1 sheet. Blanchet thanks Strachan for sending the catalogue of Strachan’s exhibition at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford. He is most appreciative of Strachan’s continuing interest in the artists involved with French books.
He points out that regarding “Steles”, he has found a number of errors, which he details and hopes will be corrected.
Two publishers were involved: Beaux Livres Grands Amis, and Les Bibliophiles de Provence.
The text was set by hand and printed by Robert Blanchet, not by Fiquet and Baudier. The aquatints by Friedlaender were produced by the ateliers Leblanc and Rigal, not by Lacouriere and Frilant.
With regard to Strechan’s letter of 17 November 1977, in which he enquires about the price of “Saisons” for the V&A, this work, which is almost sold out at present, is available from Nicoise for 250 francs. He would be able to obtain a copy for the V&A at 200 francs.</value>
