Thanks Romney for his "kind & comfortable account of the dear juvenile sculptor" (Tom Hayley), although Hayley is still worried about his son's health.

Says he is happy to hear that Romney's health is improving.

Mentions that Thomas Greene has written to say he thinks Romney's plan to settle a family in his Hampstead house is "an Act of Folly". Hayley says he replied that Romney was, partly, acting on his advice. Proceeds to instruct Romney to take neither his advice nor Greene's, but "to judge & act with that independence of Mind, which ought to be the Characteristic of Man & particularly a Man of Genius & Virtue".</value>
