Another (young) engraver who Hayley sent to copy the sketch of Christ in the WIlderness has agreed with Hayley that they will only reproduce the head "with a slight outline of the unfinished design underneath it. Hayley wishes that John Romney could find Romney's early picture "of the death of Le Fevre" and asks about "the large pictures He began on the various ages of Man? & also of a beginning much advanced of Tobit & Tobias, the Heads painted from me, & my dear son Tom?" He sent the letter with a proof of the three portraits of George Romney, engraved by Caroline Watson, that form the frontispiece to Hayley's Life of Romney. Also asks if it's true that George Romney's brother Colonel Romney has died, and mentions that he has forgiven Thomas Greene "his injurious conduct towards me".
