Hayley finds this ommission particularly odd because he believes that Shee lives in what was Romney's house.\n\nDescribes Shee's portrait of Romney: \"the Picture had Merit; but (if I remember right) did not appear to me a happy Resemblance of a most singular character.\"\n\nHayley writes that one of Shee's notes mentions \"with a just compliment\" to Flaxman, that Reynolds's family have engaged Flaxman \"to execute a monument for that illustrious artist\".
