Caroline Watson explains her delay in answering Hayley's last letter (it was misdirected and arrived several days after it was sent.

She thanks Hayley for an offer from Thomas Robinson to engrave a portrait of his patron Thomas Percy, Bishop of Dromore, but declines as she hasn insufficient time because of the work she is doing for Hayley's "Life of Romney" and her future plans - which include an extended visit to Luton Park to copy pictures which she hopes she will be able to publish and sell by subscription, along with an engraving of "The Three Friends" (aka The Four Friends: a picture Romney painted of Hayley, William Meyer (son of Jeremiah) and Tom Hayley. The picture included a self-portrait, which was omitted from Watson's engraving which forms the frontispiece to the second volume of Hayley's "Memoirs").

She suggests that the work is offered to Abraham Raimbach, whose work she does not know (but Hayley does, as he is also contributing engravings to the "Life of Romney").

Watson writes that her previous landlord has "cheated me out of a quarters rent through my folly in not giving a correct legal warning".

She and her aunt ask to be remembered to Margaret Beke.
