<type>content description</type>
<value>Notebook containing 342 numbered quatrains. Inscribed by Blunt: "The blank book in which this MS of the Quatrains was written was given to me by Lady Blanche Hozier in 1888. I leave it now to her daughter Clementine Churchill with my love, Sept 12, 1921." A note at end declares: "Finished Sheykh Obeyd Sunday March 18, 1897". Also an enclosing envelope inscribed by Clementine Churchill: "Manuscript verses left to me by Mr. Wilfrid Blunt, CSC."
Also, in a plain envelope, an apparently unrelated printed card, Speeches/Headmaster’s Guests, which may have been tucked into the notebook; on it is a handwritten note, dated 4 November 1947, from Rt. Hon. L.S. Amery to Winston Churchill, praising his speech.</value>
