But the Turbulence of my anger is calmed by the soft magic of yr verse\", and predicts that Seward's \"partiality to me will raise Enemies against us Both: but I trust their Emnity will never hurt you, & as to myself I shall hardly think any Price too high for the Coronet  of diamonds, which you have placed upon my Head\".\n\nHayley then returns to the reasons why he has failed to reply to Seward's previous letter - mostly related to problems with his eyes and \"the load of literary business\" (he is still writing the notes to his Essay on Epic Poetry). He mentions that two friends \"the wife of Sandino & Fanny Heron\" have been assisting him. Eliza, he writes, \"pleads strongly for my engaging yr poor Friend Civean, as my secretary\".
