Having reworked some paintings started some years before at Bosworth College, he feels a 'strong yearning' to return North.  He plans a British Council Mission trip the following Easter, supported by the Norwegian Ministry of Education.  His destination will be the Lapp capital of Alta where he will look at Lapp art, in particular that of children and hopes he will also find time to do some drawing.  A second (group) exhibition is planned, opening 30 May, at Swindon Art Gallery.  Grant plans to show 14 works, all landscapes of Avebury and the White Horse of Uffington, again, returning to an earlier phase.  He invites TR to both exhibitions but feels the Folkestone one 'particularly important in getting an overview of my work'.  Comments that a sea-painting he was struggling with when TR visited Lewes has been resolved, having been through many stages and most of the previous work having been over-painted.  Details about this work and comments that he has less energy and is 'less satisfied with first results', the older he gets.
