- Typeset sheets outlining contents of box and a loose newspaper extract. 
- Hayley/XXIII/1: autograph letter from George Hardinge to William Hayley, dated 7 January. No year given. 
- Hayley/XXIII/2: printed sheet from George Hardinge to Frederic Barnard, dated 10 October 1809. 
- Hayley/XXIII/3: one stanza on charity by Hayley's protege W. Hershe inscribed to Mrs (Charlotte?) Smith of Berstead Lodge. This is dated 4 January 1819. 
- Hayley/XXIII/4: copy by Dr. Thomas Warton of his MS note in his Paradise Lost (in Hayley's hand). Located in OS2.
- Hayley/XXIII/5: 1 title page to Hayley's 'Milton' from George Hardinge. 
- Hayley/XXIII/6: 4 sheets of MS notes on John Milton from George Hardinge. 
- Hayley/XXIII/7: notebook labelled 'Hardinge's MSS' in William Hayley's hand containing notes connected with John Milton's poems. 
- Hayley/XXIIII/8-87: autograph letters from Mary Willis to William Hayley. These letters are dated from 1789 until 1817. XXIII/38 has extracts from Jane Watkin's letters. XXIII/57 not present, possibly repetition of XXIII/56. Hayley/XXIII/87 comprised of 4 fragments of an autograph letter from Willis to Hayley, written on mourning paper.
