It was addressed to the Fitzwilliam Museum's former Librarian, L.A. Holder, who acknowledged it on 3rd December 1953 (as inferred from the 'Acknowledged 3 Dec. 1953 / Would make a transcript of the letter which does exist on the back of the first prospectus & would let Mr. Beckett have a copy.' inscription). The leaf has been numbered ‘4’ by the compiler of the booklet. Through the letter, Beckett informs Holder about the 'English Landscape' material he has sent through Mr. Goodison (then Deputy Director of the Fitzwilliam Museum). He also sent some notes he prepared to accompany the material.
