Beckett seeks Holder's advice regarding the the time period, as he wishes to include the letter in a volume called 'Constable & His Fellow Artists'.\n\nBeckett also mentions that he possesses an early proof of a David Lucas mezzotint - a second copy of the large Hadleigh Castle. \n\nThe letter has been inscribed in black ink, possibly by L.A. Holder or another member of staff. It reads: ' Replica 10\/4\/54 \/ sent [drawing?] & \/ suggested artists [...] on attached [illegible]'.
