May\/31''.\n\nTRANSCRIPT:\n\n---\n[sketch - Shirley calls it sketch of cloud; not described by Beckett]\nAlfred will direct your attention to a few trifles in the Mill which is now a delightfull print -\n    first the sky on the right & trees\n2d top of poplar near the Church\n3 the Water driping a little more frm wheel\n4 the Willows below the Church - and softer the meadow light over fall\n5 top of large tree on left side\n\n---\n\nIn a note on the date of this letter (page 22), Shirley writes: ''As this print was the first of the first number to be begun, and as these alterations come late in the progress of the plate, it is safe to date this letter early January in view of No. 7.
