The leaf has been numbered S13, referring to the order in Shirley's publication. \n\nTRANSCRIPT:\n\n---\n                                                                       Charlotte St feby 26. 1830\nDear Lucas -\n                 I am anxious to see you to have further talk about the plates - \nfirst\n        I want to know how forward the \u201cEvening\u201d is & the retouched Stoke for I am desirous of \u2018eight\u2019\u2019 being all you engaged on for me \u2013 if it does not delay the work too long a time\n   I have not the will to become the owner of the large plate of the Castle but I [t\/n: word deleted] am \u2013 anxious that it should be fine - & will take all pains with it \u2013 it cannot fail of being so \u2013 if I may now judge \u2013 I have take much pains with the last proof of the \u2018\u2019Summerland\u2019\u2019 - but I fear I shall be obliged to reject it \u2013 it has never recovered its first trip up \u2013 and the skey with the new ground is and ever will be as rotten as cow dung.\n    I like your first plates \u2013 for are by far (very far) the best but I allow much for your distractions since \u2013 with those devils the printers \u2013 and your financies \u2013 and other matters \u2013 not in unison with that patient toil \u2013 which ought always to govern the habits of us both \u2013 but more perhaps yours -\n---\n\nNote: This letter continues on a separate sheet, which was not part of this donation.
