                                                                                                        1st Feb. 1831
Dear Lucas
           I send this hasty note to say how much I like the proof - I cannot do better now - oly [t/n: only] as I shall see you tomorrow at 2. we can then talk of one or two like maters [t/n: matters] - such as a long grass - &amp; a dog &amp;c &amp;c &amp;c.
