TRANSCRIPT: --- I go to the Acady [t/n: Academy] at 12. bring another proof with you in the last state For Mr Lucas Dear Lucas Can you come to me directly - as I must go to the Acady [t/n: Academy] on duty this morng [t/n: morning] - On my return from Colnaghis last night I found this proof - I am glad to hear you went ''smack at it - regardless of consequences'' for that is the way for either a boy or a girl - I like the proof exceedingly & we are all safe again but as I have the picture I wish to give it a few touches with [t/n: 'before' crossed out] you - present - before we print.
