For
Mr Lucas
                                                                         March.12.1831.
Dear Lucas
As I am now not certain when I may see you - I send my man . to you to say that when we next meet I have to tell you an entirely new plan which I have formed with respect to my book.
I do not get any better with my indisposition - and am quite out of heart about - I cough all night, which leaves me sadly week all day.
The bearer will bring back any message but the most probable one is that you are like me very ill!
                                                                                   Yours truly
                                                                                   J. Constable

---

Beckett (page 343) notes that the bearer of this letter probably returned with the expected message to Constable, and hence, he wrote down a new plan later that evening (See Constable/EL/1/1/35).</value>
