Mr Lucas

Dear Lucas
I send Pitt for I have no doubt but you are ready to print the things
I go to Hampd [t/n: Hampstead] at 6 this Evg -
do let us get them - printed & done somehow I do care how only them be done -
You are a chip of the Old block [t/n: '(very nearly)' or '(Reynolds)' - Shirley is also doubtful] - can you tell me who has a large copy of the Rembrandts Mill*. I daresay if I was to ask Reynolds' son he has one -
do let me get the things out of your hands somehow - I do'nt care whether I like them or not [.] I have long ceased to care anything about that
Yes J.C. -
---

*Shirley's footnote for this reads: 'The famous painting formerly at Bowood and now in the Widener Collection, Philadelphia. S.W. Reynolds senior had engraved it.'</value>
