On the leaf, the date has been altered to 1834 by a later hand. The published transcript of this letter can be found in Shirley (No. 86, page 68) and Beckett (page 364). The leaf has been numbered S86, referring to the order in Shirley's publication. \n\nTRANSCRIPT:\n\n---\nMr Lucas\n\nDear Lucas\n                I am now getting quite anxious about you not hearing anything of you for so many days - & the last accts (t\/n: accounts) not favourable,\n          If I do not see you soon I shall craze myself and you too, about ''the Book'' - a fearfull change is determined upon by myself - a new plate - must be immediately put in hand --- and others that are laid bye are to be [t\/n: words deleted] revived - and compleated - all of which God grant You may soon be able & willing to do - but I am of all things most anxious to submit my restless anxiety to you - on this material change in my resolves - for without the fair - genuine - & unbiased - with you will not fail to give - I shall do nothing \n------''please to notice''-\nI want the Glebe farms that are ready -\n------\nI want 2 or 3 Salisburies in its present state -\n------\nand I want 2 or 3 of that smaller Glebe farm which was begun - with the burst of light ---!!!\n  all as soon as possible\n  the latter wett will do - as they are for straining for experiments - Yours De [dear] Lucas\n                                                                                                         J.
