The leaf has been numbered S100, referring to the order in Shirley's publication. \n\nTRANSCRIPT:\n\n---\nDear Lucas,\n                  Am I likely to see you this Evng - I shall be at home - but I was not last night - and I shall be again at the R.A. tomorrow Evng -\n                                         The ''Eveng'' looks [t\/n: word deleted] lovely - I have bothered Sparrow out of a fly leave* - & I like it very well - preserving the original title -\n                                          Mr Phillips** is writing me an introductory letter - which as far as it goes I do not like at all - still I let him do it - I can overhaul it.\n                                                              Yours truly\n                                                                              J.C\n\nTo\nMr Lucas [t\/n: written inversely as leaf was folded in half]\n\n---\n\n*Beckett suggests that this perhaps refers to the new set of verses.\n\n**Referring to the horticulturist, Henry Phillips.
